daywave coffee

BRAND IDENTITY • ENVIRONMENTAL GRAPHICS • PRODUCT MARKETING

OVERVIEW

Daywave was developed as a coffee-focused concept operating within Timestead, requiring a distinct identity that could stand on its own while remaining connected to the broader Modern Times brand family. The project encompassed brand development, environmental graphics, product marketing, and customer-facing experiences across physical and digital touchpoints. Inspired by California coffee culture, music, and retro design influences, the work focused on creating a recognizable sub-brand capable of supporting hospitality operations, marketing initiatives, and long-term growth.

01

brand identity

Daywave required the creation of a distinct identity that could differentiate the concept from traditional coffee brands while remaining connected to the broader Modern Times ecosystem. The challenge was developing a visual language capable of supporting hospitality operations, product marketing, merchandise, environmental graphics, and future growth. Drawing inspiration from California coffee culture, music, and retro design aesthetics, the identity combined bold typography, vibrant color palettes, and layered graphic elements to create a recognizable brand presence that felt energetic, approachable, and uniquely Daywave.

02

ENVIRONMENTAL GRAPHICS

The Daywave identity was translated into a physical environment through menu systems, wall graphics, window signage, wayfinding elements, and customer-facing touchpoints. The objective was to create a cohesive guest experience that felt immediately recognizable whether customers were viewing a social post, ordering from a menu, or visiting the space in person. By balancing operational functionality with brand expression, the environmental graphics helped establish a consistent visual presence while supporting day-to-day hospitality needs.

03

product marketing & creative direction

Beyond the visual identity, Daywave required an ongoing marketing system capable of introducing new products, driving awareness, and creating excitement around the brand. Creative direction extended across product launches, promotional campaigns, photography, social media content, and event marketing, helping translate the personality of the brand into customer-facing experiences. From seasonal beverage features to collaborative events and loyalty initiatives, each campaign was designed to strengthen brand recognition while creating meaningful reasons for customers to engage and return.
